Government of Maharashtra conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to first year of two year full time regular post graduate degree courses in Management namely Master of Business Administration (MBA) / Master of Management Studies (MMS).

The institutes, which qualify for the admission process as per these rules, are;
  • Approved by all India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
  • Recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.
  • Affiliated to any one of the nine Non Agricultural / Non Technological Universities in Maharashtra state.

Following are the types of Institutes in the Maharashtra state covered by these rules;
a) All Government Management Institutes
b) All University Departments of Management
c) All University Managed Management Institutes
d) All Unaided Management institutes


Eligibilty:

1. Basic Qualification : In order to secure admission to first year of two-year full time MBA/MMS programme, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria; Passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate* ( 40% in case of backward class candidates from Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.

OR
Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.

2 Eligibility Criteria for admission to Maharashtra State candidates for the seats coming under Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) :
1. Basic qualification as specified above.
2. Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2006), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority for the academic year 2006-2007.

3 Eligibility Criteria for admissions to Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates for the 15% seats coming under CAP :
1. Basic qualification as specified above.
2. Appeared for CAT (conducted by IIMs) / JMET (conducted by IITs) / MAT (conducted by AIMA) / ATMA (conducted by AIMS) / XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2006-07.
Such candidates are required to appear for GD &PI conducted by the Competent Authority of Maharashtra State for the academic year 2006-2007.
OR
Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2005), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority for the academic year 2006-2007.


4 Eligibility Criteria for admissions against seats for Foreign National / Foreign student / PIO / Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries:
1. Basic qualification as specified above.
2. Appeared for CAT (conducted by IIMs) / JMET (conducted by IITs) / MAT (conducted by AIMA) / ATMA (conducted by AIMS) / XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2006-07.
Such candidates are required to appear for GD &PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.
OR
Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2005), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority for the academic year 2006-2007.
OR

any other equivalent examination conducted for the academic year 2006-07.


5 Eligibility Criteria for Minority / Management seats :
1. Basic qualification as specified above
2. Appeared for CAT (conducted by IIMs) / JMET (conducted by IITs) / MAT (conducted by AIMA) / ATMA (conducted by AIMS) / XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2006-07.
Such candidates are required to appear for GD &PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.

OR
Appeared for CET conducted by agency (including Association of all colleges of a particular type in the State) approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti Bandra (E), Mumbai-51 for the academic year 2006-07.

Such candidates are required to appear for GD &PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.

OR
Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2006), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority for the academic year 2006-2007.

3. In case of Minority seats, the candidate should belong to the minority community / group for which the institute has secured minority status.

Note :
1. Candidates who will remain absent for CET or GD or PI shall be treated as not eligible for admission and result of such candidates will not be declared.
2. Candidates securing zero marks in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2005 / CAT /JMET / MAT / ATMA / XAT / Association CET / Any other equivalent CET will not be considered eligible for admission. Names of such candidates will not appear in the merit list.


Age limit:
There is no age limit for admission to first year of two year post graduate degree course in Management viz. MBA / MMS.
Exam Pattern and Distribution of Total Marks
• The question paper for the CET will be set in English only. Translations in any languages will not be available.
• The CET would be of 2 1/2 (Two and half) hours duration and would have a maximum of 200 marks.
• The CET would have multiple choice objective type questions.
• The CET would not have negative marking.
• There will be no verification of marks or revaluation of answer sheets of the CET
• The marks at the CET would be considered for admission during the current academic year only and would not be allowed to be carried forward to the next year.
• All the candidates who appear for the CET will be eligible for the GD and PI. The batch number, date, time and venue for the GD and PI will be indicated on the call letter for CET , GD and PI.
